Surf- Analysis Will Leave You In A State of Paralysis


We learn more by practice than we do by theory. Living in an age of information can be overwhelming in itself, with all the vast different opinions coming your way from every direction. Living in the midst of mass information in a digital age, on the other hand, can leave you out of focus, swayed, feeling bombarded, drained, and low in energy.ย 


Being latched to your phone can exacerbate stress and burnout.

There is time for looking at data and there is time for doing.ย 

Be a scientist. I mean we are all scientists in one way, shape or form.ย 

Everything you need to know and to learn about is around you and not written down in a LinkedIn post by a leadership guru on the other side of the world. Whether it is your team, middle managers or even your students in a classroom -- focus on them, they are your audience and what they bring forward is the subject that you must master.ย

Listen to your team, be a knowledgeable skeptic and relentlessly question general assumptions. (E.g. misconceptions that get thrown out but are inaccurate, like: "the team slacks and doesn't sell well", "Gen Z at the team don't want to be at the office and don't want to be told what to do"). These are very broad statements that are not accurate or authenticated and can not be generalized. Rather, get to know your team and see how you can support them better with professional and personal development so that they become active participants of the team. #HumanContract

Investigate anomaliesโ€”things that are unexpected or donโ€™t look right; chances are they probably aren't right. Outdated policies, procedures that have been done a thousand times and proved ineffective --> means it is time for them to be changed.

Devise testable hypotheses that can be quantifiably confirmed or disproved. Coming up with new policies and procedures that work best for your team is wonderful! Now confirm it with numbers and data. ๐‘๐ฎ๐ง ๐ž๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐š๐ญ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐๐ฎ๐œ๐ž ๐ก๐š๐ซ๐ ๐ž๐ฏ๐ข๐๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž; ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐›๐ข๐ง๐  ๐œ๐š๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ž๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ž๐œ๐ญ. Showing how much investment was gone into training and development and the return of that investment first and foremost on the teams' morale, confidence, and sales chart.ย
